All-Star AthletesSports & FitnessAll-Star Athletes is a high-energy after-school program designed to build sports skills through hands-on instruction and active play. Over six weeks, athletes will explore a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, baseball/softball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, and more while developing key areas like strength, speed, agility, endurance, and flexibility. Each session features an introduction to a new sport along with focused skill-building activities such as dynamic stretching, form running, agility drills, and bodyweight strength training tailored to that week’s sport. WaitlistApplied MusicMusicApplied Music Students in this course will have a curriculum tailored to their individual needs and level as they study musical instrument methods, theory, aural skills, and history. Students may choose to focus on voice, piano, strings, composition and songwriting, or other band/orchestra/popular musical instruments they would like to explore or improve. (The instructor has a master's degree in music and over a decade of experience teaching and performing in multiple modalities. ) Students should provide their own instruments and bring a blank bullet journal or sketchbook to class. A questionnaire will be sent out prior to the start of lessons to help design each student's learning plan for their current goals. This class is designed to continue throughout the school year, but it will be structured in six-week sessions with a one-week break between sessions. Once placed in a class, you will remain in the class for the school year and be charged at the start of each six-week session. It is possible for students to change focus to a new instrument or modality at the start of a new six-weeks if desired.*Please note that all students are placed on a waiting list at the time of registration to allow staff to place students in an appropriate day and time. Once all spaces are filled and a true waiting list exists, registrants will be contacted as space becomes available. If demand warrants, additional classes may be added. Babysitting & First Aid/CPR WorksYouth EnrichmentThis course teaches students to meet the basic needs of children in a care-taking environment with a focus on safety. The training will help students develop leadership skills, start a babysitting business and learn how to communicate with parents while keeping themselves and others safe. Students will also learn child feeding and diapering techniques. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certification card. This class also incorporates a Pediatric First Aid Course that instructs students on how to deal with first aid issues to include medical emergencies, the use of an Epi-pen injector, injury emergencies, Stop the Bleed, and how to handle environmental emergencies. Also covered are adult/child and infant CPR procedures as well as how to react to a child or infant who is choking. Bass ClassSports & FitnessBass Class In this six-week course, your students will fish to their hearts' content. This course is designed for experienced anglers who want to have fun and fish regularly. Students will receive a basic tackle kit with their enrollment. It is strongly recommended for students who have already completed the Fishing 101 course, but with a recommendation from the instructor, new students can enroll. Cheer with Character and ConfidenceSports & FitnessCheer with Character and Confidence In “Cheer with Character and Confidence,” K–5th grade students will learn the basics of cheerleading including chants, motions, jumps, and beginner routines while also building life skills that matter on and off the mat. Each week pairs fun cheer activities with a character focus, like teamwork, confidence, leadership, and perseverance. By the end of the six weeks, students will not only gain cheer skills but also strengthen friendships, practice encouragement, and grow in responsibility all while having fun in a positive, team-spirited environment.Community Education 2026-2027 -

DanceArt & Performing ArtsThis class, taught by Marylin Daniels and Marylin Jacobs of the Marylin Youmans School of Dance of Savannah, offers an introduction to ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical dance styles with a focus on rhythm, technique, coordination, flexibility and performance skills while building students' confidence. Black leotards, black or pink tights or black shorts instead of tights, pink ballet shoes, and caramel (tan) tap shoes are recommended but not required. Flag Football for GirlsSports & FitnessThis flag football course for young girls is designed to introduce and teach the fundamentals of the game in a fun and supportive environment. Through engaging activities and practice sessions, players will learn the basic rules, skills, and techniques of flag football, including passing, catching, running, and flag pulling. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence both on and off the field. Football Academy - Intro - AdvancedSports & FitnessFootball Academy Football Academy is a six-week, non-contact program designed to help with skill development for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends. Athletes will learn proper technique, important football vocabulary, develop football IQ, and build confidence through focused position training, competitive drills, and fun games. It is highly recommended that athletes bring cleats, water, and wear athletic clothing. Fundamentals of BasketballSports & FitnessThis class is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of basketball. Lessons will focus on shooting form, dribbling skills, and passing. Beginners and experienced students are welcome. Students will have the opportunity to play 5 on 5 against each other. Starting SoonFundamentals of Weight Training Summer ProgramSports & FitnessFundamentals of Weight Training Summer Program This course is a beginner-level program that teaches athletes the fundamentals of safe strength training. Over eight weeks, participants will learn proper form, basic lifting techniques, and how to build simple workouts using free weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises. Each session includes a warm-up, guided instruction, and a weight training workout routine. Students will keep track of progress and document how much stronger they have gotten during this period. *This course is an eight-week course that begins in one fiscal year and ends in the next fiscal year. Due to system limitations and the requirement to keep the revenue from fiscal years separate, the class is being posted as two four-week sessions in two separate catalogues with two separate charges. Group PianoMusicGroup Beginner Piano is taught by former classroom teacher, Jo Hart. The small group class has every child at a keyboard learning the basics of piano with all materials provided. Students have fun while learning note spelling and basic music theory. This is a yearly course in which subsequent months build on the previous months. At the end of this year, your child will have an understanding of the basics of piano and will be ready to continue a lifetime love of piano. The accomplishments of their goals/skills promotes self confidence in a fun learning environment. Safety is always a top priority when teaching skill progression. Gymnastics classes include instruction on the balance beam, uneven bars, floor, vault and parallel bars. Classes are for boys and girls. Tumbling classes specialize in perfecting floor skills. At least one year of gymnastics classes is required unless approved by instructor. All classes are one hour with the option to take more than once a week. WaitlistPianoMusicPrivate piano lessons are offered to children and adults. Lessons are offered on a weekly basis for 30 minutes and are available for beginners as well as those who have piano experience. Minimum age requirements for enrolling in piano lessons will be determined by each instructor. Multiple qualified instructors will be teaching piano for the Community Education program. Piano lessons take place in the after school hours. Class times and locations will be assigned individually. Please note that your registration does not confirm your enrollment in the piano class. You will be contacted once assigned to an available class or placed on a waiting list if no class is available. Prices may vary by instructor. In Introduction to College Prep Piano, the student receives a weekly 30-minute piano lesson that is tailored to their individual learning style. Lessons are focused on theory, technique, sight-reading, aural-training, and a variety of musical styles appropriate for beginners to advanced students of any age.
