Dance
This class, taught by Marylin Daniels and Marylin Jacobs of the Marylin Youmans School of Dance of Savannah, offers an introduction to ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical dance styles with a focus on rhythm, technique, coordination, flexibility and performance skills while building students' confidence. Black leotards, black or pink tights or black shorts instead of tights, pink ballet shoes, and caramel (tan) tap shoes are recommended but not required. Offered for grades PK-5.

Marylin Daniels
Instructor

Marylin Daniels is the current owner of Marylin Youmans School of Dance and Baton which has been in the Savannah are for over 85 years. Marylin's students have performed at many sporting events, assisted living facilities, and local community events. They also have achieved college scholarships for dance. Marylin loves to teach dance to her students to help them promote memory, balance, rhythm, and body control. She has experience in recreational and competitive dance and wants her students to develop a positive self-image. Marylin is a member on Dance Masters of America and is in the NBTA Hall of Fame.
Marylin Jacobs
Instructor

Marylin Jacobs, daughter of Marylin Daniels and the granddaughter of Marylin Youmans, joins to teach tap, ballet, and jazz. She has taught the performing arts to the Savannah area for over 30 years. A state, regional, and national champion herself, she has guided others to win numerous national and world championship titles. Marylin has choreographed competitive solo dance twirls that have gone on to perform and compete in the world championships all across Europe. Marylin's passion is to teach dance. She has helped many of her students go on to dance on Broadway and for Disney.
