Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country—and it’s coming to Community Education! This class offers middle school students a fun and active way to learn the game while spending time with friends. Each session will include games, music, and plenty of playtime on the courts. Students will learn the rules, practice skills, and develop strategies in a relaxed, social environment. For our more advanced players, we’ll have dedicated courts set aside so they can enjoy competitive games and continue to improve their skills. Whether you’re brand new or already a baller, this class has a spot for you! Note: This class is held at the courts at Bryan County Recreation off Timber Trail. Transport is not available for this class. Parents must drop off and pick up at the start and end times of class.

PLAYSPORT with PLAYBALL Give your child the opportunity to experience a variety of sports in one exciting program! PLAYSPORT with Playball is a dynamic multi-sport program designed to develop confidence, coordination, teamwork, and a lifelong love of physical activity. Richmond Hill Social Richmond Hill Social is a six-week course designed to help middle school students build confidence, respect, and polished social skills. Through fun, hands-on lessons, students will learn the art of introductions, conversation, proper table manners, and social grace for a variety of settings. Students will also explore appropriate dress for different occasions including how to tie a tie and present themselves with confidence and poise. Modeled after traditional etiquette and social programs for young people, this class blends timeless manners with modern relevance. The experience concludes with a Family Etiquette Dinner where students showcase everything they've learned in a refined, celebratory setting. Please note: Payment for the Family Etiquette Dinner is included in the enrollment fees. Please choose whether your family will include one parent or two parents for that event. No refunds are available regardless of attendance.

Requirements for enrollment: Students must have taken the PSAT or SAT and completed Algebra I; students must have a calculator (TI-84 or TI-84 Plus preferred) , a charged laptop or chrome book, and a College Board student account. If you are bringing a personal laptop, download the BlueBook app (Instructions HERE). You will be able to access BlueBoard with your College Board login credentials, so have your login and password. Three-Day SAT Prep Blast The SAT Prep Blast course concentrates on SAT reading, vocabulary, and writing skills along with math practice. The course includes practice in taking the NEW DIGITAL SAT, as well as strategies for sections and question types. Learn to approach the test analytically and with confidence and practice effective test-taking strategies. Examine the format of test sections, modules, question structure and content, as well as practice the skills and techniques for each type of question. Review useful approaches for eliminating guessing, using actual test questions released by College Board. We will use authentic practice materials within Bluebook as well as other SAT practice resources available through the College Board and Khan Academy. Practice work will help identify individual strengths and weaknesses, so additional practice can be tailored to a student’s specific needs. SAT Prep Blast will allow for a full SAT practice test with scoring and feedback. This class meets on one Monday, one Thursday, and one Saturday for a total of 6.5 hours of instruction. This in-person SAT course will give you a leg up over any online course. In this course you will: Receive one-on-one instruction and help. Learn where to find the most useful SAT Prep resources. Participants have the option to sign up for recurring monthly or individual classes. Recurring class charges are billed on the first of each month. Individual class charges are billed upon registration. Activities will be updated quarterly.

This one-hour STEM class incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering and Math into a variety of fun activities for students in grades K-5. Some past activities include dry-ice bubbles, color-reversing flowers, seltzer rockets and pop-can cars. Sign up for this class for engaging, hands-on learning! Early registration is suggested. Class is limited to 20 students per session.

This self defense class curriculum is Progressive Self Defense (PSD) which focuses on situational/environmental awareness by enhancing personal security abilities. The core is to identify (mental aspect) and control possible invasive attacks by way of deployment of reasonable force to an assailant. PSD develops the tool kit (knowledge) in order for the individual to be competent and confident to respond in possible high stress scenarios including potential and activated attacks.The "tool kit" is based on:*Situational Awareness and Mindset*Threat Assessment *Counter Measures*Offensive/Defensive Mechanics*Proper deployment of self defense technique (blocks, strikes, and OODA Loop)*How to use the "fight or flight" in your favor*What to do after an attack (legal spectrum)This course ranges from 90 minutes up to 2 hours depending on class size and student understanding of the curriculum being instructed.

Designed for young technology enthusiasts, this hands-on STEM experience allows students to build robotic models inspired by real-life technologies while discovering how robots are designed and used in the world around them. Through engaging building challenges, students will explore concepts like gear ratios, sensors, simple machines, and introductory programming as they create projects such as alarm devices, earthquake detectors, robotic arms, and more. Along the way, children will strengthen creativity, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills while having fun building, experimenting, and bringing their robotic ideas to life!

This six-week softball class meets one day per week and is open to female students in grades 1–5. The class focuses on teaching the fundamentals of softball including throwing, catching, hitting, fielding, and base running. Sessions are designed to be fun, age-appropriate, and instructional, with an emphasis on skill development, confidence, and sportsmanship. This class is perfect for beginners or players looking to strengthen their skills.

Strength & Cardio Foundations Build strength, improve endurance, and boost your overall fitness in this six-week program designed for adults of all fitness levels. Each session combines weight training, cardio, mobility, and functional movement exercises to help you move better, feel stronger, and increase your energy. Whether you’re new to exercise or looking to get back into a routine, this supportive program provides expert guidance, exercise modifications, and practical fitness strategies to help you achieve your goals.
