Watercolor Animation Studio (Middle/High School)

In this course students will learn the basics of working with watercolors and creating watercolor paintings of anime and animation characters from local artist Paul Downs.

Each weekly one-hour class will build on the previous week’s lesson and introduce different tools and techniques in the creation of a 6x9 watercolor painting. The class will learn the fundamentals of how to paint with watercolors, how to use additional tools in their creation, and how to finish and display watercolor art. See examples of Paul's work below for a few of the animation subjects that will be in the first session. Subsequent sessions will feature other animation subjects.
