Hi everyone! My name is Mistie Strickland, and I’ve been part of the BCBOE family for 20 years in Food Service and Nutrition—15 of those years right here in management at BCES.

I’m married to my wonderful husband, Jason, and we have two children, Rebecca and Jason. Our greatest joy is our four beautiful grandchildren: Brantley, Jaxson, Finlee, and Oaklee.

Cooking has always been my passion. I love creating new recipes, trying new things, and making meals that bring family and friends together. One of my favorite parts of my job is feeding the students at BCES. It’s such a joy to share good food with them every day.

I like to call myself “old-school” in the kitchen. I believe the recipes and lessons we’ve learned over the years shouldn’t be forgotten. That’s why I enjoy passing them down not only to my kids and grandkids but also to students. Kitchen skills are a lifelong gift. They help us become independent, creative, and confident.

Cooking isn’t just about food. It’s about fun, connection, and the satisfaction of sharing something you made with others. In my cooking class, we’ll learn a lot, taste a lot, and most importantly, have a lot of fun together.

I can’t wait to get started with you all—let’s cook up something amazing!
