    All-Star Athletes

    All-Star Athletes is a high-energy after-school program designed to build sports skills through hands-on instruction and active play. Over six weeks, athletes will explore a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, baseball/softball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, and more while developing key areas like strength, speed, agility, endurance, and flexibility. Each session features an introduction to a new sport along with focused skill-building activities such as dynamic stretching, form running, agility drills, and bodyweight strength training tailored to that week’s sport. Note: This class is held at Frances Meeks Elementary. Transport is available to FMES students only.

    Bass Class

    Bass Class In this six-week course, your students will fish to their hearts' content. This course is designed for experienced anglers who want to have fun and fish regularly. Students will receive a basic tackle kit with their enrollment. It is strongly recommended for students who have already completed the Fishing 101 course, but with a recommendation from the instructor, new students can enroll. Note: This class is held at Frances Meeks Elementary. Transport is available to FMES students only.

    Cheer with Character and Confidence

    Cheer with Character and Confidence In “Cheer with Character and Confidence,” K–5th grade students will learn the basics of cheerleading including chants, motions, jumps, and beginner routines while also building life skills that matter on and off the mat. Each week pairs fun cheer activities with a character focus, like teamwork, confidence, leadership, and perseverance. By the end of the six weeks, students will not only gain cheer skills but also strengthen friendships, practice encouragement, and grow in responsibility all while having fun in a positive, team-spirited environment.

    Fishing 101

    Fishing 101 In this six-week course, your student will explore fishing at various levels. Whether you are a beginner or an avid angler, this course is perfect for developing your skills. Fishing rods are provided, and students will get to keep their rods at the end of the course. Note: This class is held at Frances Meeks Elementary. Transport is available to FMES students only.
  • Flag Football for Girls

    This flag football course for young girls is designed to introduce and teach the fundamentals of the game in a fun and supportive environment. Through engaging activities and practice sessions, players will learn the basic rules, skills, and techniques of flag football, including passing, catching, running, and flag pulling. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence both on and off the field. Students should wear athletic shoes, have hair tied back, and bring a water bottle.

    Football Academy - Intro - Advanced

    Football Academy Football Academy is a six-week, non-contact program designed to help with skill development for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends. Athletes will learn proper technique, important football vocabulary, develop football IQ, and build confidence through focused position training, competitive drills, and fun games. It is highly recommended that athletes bring cleats, water, and wear athletic clothing. This program is open to all experience levels and is a great way for students to improve, compete, and have fun learning the game of football.

    Fundamentals of Basketball

    This class is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of basketball. Lessons will focus on shooting form, dribbling skills, and passing. Beginners and experienced students are welcome. Students will have the opportunity to play 5 on 5 against each other. Developing a positive culture that promotes self-confidence and teamwork will be our foundation. Students will be engaged in various drills and games to help improve their basketball fundamentals. *Note: No transport provided for this class for students not enrolled in MES ASP. Students must be dropped off and picked up by parents.

    Fundamentals of Weight Training

    Fundamentals of Weight Training This course is a beginner-level program that teaches athletes the fundamentals of safe strength training. Over six weeks, participants will learn proper form, basic lifting techniques, and how to build simple workouts using free weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises. Each session includes a warm-up, guided instruction, and a weight training workout routine. Over the six weeks, students will keep track of progress and document how much stronger they have gotten during this brief period. *Middle school students (grades 6-8) can stay after school to attend this class but must be picked up promptly at the class end time.

    Fundamentals of Weight Training Summer Program

    Fundamentals of Weight Training Summer Program This course is a beginner-level program that teaches athletes the fundamentals of safe strength training. Students will keep track of progress and document how much stronger they have gotten during this period. *This course is an eight-week course that begins in one fiscal year and ends in the next fiscal year. Due to system limitations and the requirement to keep the revenue from fiscal years separate, the class is being posted as two four-week sessions in two separate catalogues with two separate charges. Students enrolled in the June session will be automatically enrolled in the July session once it opens and charged for the second part of the course.

    Session 1 - August 17-October 9, 2026 Classes offered Monday - Friday. There are four seven or eight-week sessions offered during the school year. Gymnastics is a sport that requires balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and endurance. The skills and movements required in gymnastics contribute to the development of all muscle groups. Movement Education gives students an understanding of anatomy combined with effort and spatial awareness. The accomplishments of their goals/skills promotes self confidence in a fun learning environment. Safety is always a top priority when teaching skill progression. Gymnastics classes include instruction on the balance beam, uneven bars, floor, vault and parallel bars. Classes are for boys and girls. Tumbling classes specialize in perfecting floor skills. At least one year of gymnastics classes is required unless approved by instructor. All classes are one hour with the option to take more than once a week. Following registration, the instructor will place each student in an appropriate class based on age and ability, and confirmation of day/time of class will be sent via email to account owner.

    Hoop Stars Basketball Academy

    Students will build basketball fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense through fun drills, small-sided games, and 5-on-5 scrimmages. All skill levels are welcome, and each session emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence alongside skill development, giving kids a chance to grow on and off the court in a supportive, high-energy environment.

    Taekwondo is translated into “the way of the hands and feet” and is designed to enhance balance, agility, and flexibility. Courtesy, respect, perseverance, self-control, and positive thinking are the foundations for achieving success in martial arts training. Master Flemmings is a 7th degree black belt, and he has additional martial arts instruction in Karate, Mudukwan, Hapkido, Jujitsu, Krav Maga (Israeli Self Defense) and Hwa Rang Do. Placement in the class will be determined at time of registration. Uniforms must be worn. Uniforms can be obtained through online purchase using the vendor of your choice. A three-piece, white set with a V-neck top, pants, and belt is recommended. Belt testing is available through the instructor. Please note that no spectators are allowed in the building during class sessions.

    Fall Endurance Add some variety to your list of sport accomplishments through the Fall Endurance program. Let your child experience the excitement of running while realizing their physical and mental potential. This five-part endurance program, designed and led by RHHS’s USATF certified & 17x USA Today Cross-Country Coach of the Year Levi Sybert, brings focus to endurance running and the sport of cross country in a fun and interactive way. Participants will meet at Richmond Hill High School’s Track Complex where they will be paired up with students of similar ability to prepare for a culminating race run on the RHHS Cross Country race on the final day. Our goal is that each child will experience firsthand how to find fun and thrill in an activity they can do anywhere at any time. Open to grades K-5. No transport available for this class.

    Volleyball Skills & Drills

    This class is designed to teach beginner players the fundamentals of volleyball in a fostering, encouraging environment. Over the course of 6 weeks they will learn the basics of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. In addition to skill development, players will learn the importance of communication and teamwork, building confidence both on and off the court. Through drills and skill-building games, participants will develop a strong foundation of volleyball while making new friends and having fun! Reminders: Bring water and proper sports attire (shorts, T-shirt, and comfortable running sneakers with good grip or volleyball shoes). **If you have/plan on buying volleyball shoes, they are STRICTLY meant for indoor court use. Please come in a different pair of shoes (i.e; crocs, slides, flip flops), and once inside, player can change shoes. Please make sure socks are brought or worn. Knee pads are suggested but not required. No transport is available for this class.
