Little Veterinarian School: Dog Care Clinic (August 20- October 8)

8-week hands-on veterinary science class

In Little Vet School: Dog Care Clinic, students become “little veterinarians” as they adopt a plush dog and learn how veterinarians care for canine patients. Students will explore the vet’s office, practice a nose-to-tail exam, learn dog nutrition and hydration, study dog eyes, discover working dogs, practice safe tick removal, role-play vet clinic jobs, and learn how radiology helps vets see inside a dog’s body. This session ends with a Little Vet School graduation celebration.

Students may receive or take home items such as: an adopted plush dog, adoption certificate, Little Vet School journal, white coat, tape measure, dog bowl, dog bone activity, eye craft, basic command cards, tick-removal activity items, bandana dog toy, graduation diploma, and activity sheets about dog care, vet clinic roles, anatomy, and radiology.

Registration note: This is one of two different 8-week Little Vet School dog sessions. Students may take this class by itself, or they may also take Little Vet School: Dog Health & Wellness for the full dog curriculum experience. No previous Little Vet School class is required.

Little Veterinarian School: Dog Health & Wellness (October 15-December 10)

8-week hands-on veterinary science class

In Little Vet School: Dog Health & Wellness, students become “little veterinarians” as they adopt a plush dog and explore dog body systems, behavior, health, and preventive care. Students will learn about dog digestion, body language, ears and noses, panting, breeds, grooming, vaccines, minor injuries, paw care, and veterinary careers. This session ends with a Little Vet School graduation celebration.

Students may receive or take home items such as: an adopted plush dog, Little Vet School journal, white coat, syringe practice tool, grooming and dental care activities, paw care activities, veterinary bingo card, graduation diploma, and activity sheets about digestion, dog body language, breeds, preventive care, paw care, and veterinary careers.
